More good news: in January, I entered BRANCHES into the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. First prize is $50,000 and a book contract. Round 1 was based on a 300-word pitch and today they announced the Round 1 winners. Guess what? BRANCHES was one of the selections. Round 2 will be based on a 3000-5000 excerpt of the novel and the winners of Round 2 will be announced on March 12. Say a prayer that BRANCHES makes it through Round 2. I’ll keep you posted.
I shared this on my Timeline when it first posted on December 9, 2012 but I think it’s well worth re-sharing since self-publishing and its difficult step-child, self-marketing, is fully in our midst with the Cedar Rapids Iowa Dynamic Trio (Lennox Randon, Rob Cline and fellow writer Tom Green) AND the Lakewood Ohio Lone Crusader (MOI) all trying to take advantage of this powerful tool. I encourage all of our FB friends and family to support us with lots of LIKES, Purchases and Reviews to help give our precious creations the attention they deserve. It all starts with YOU and then the rest of the world will sit up and take notice.
And it’s a WIN-WIN for you because you’re going to read some of the best words ever keyboarded into a word processing program and then transformed somewhat miraculously into iBook. Kindle and Nook formats and then to that most beautiful of concepts–a Printed Paperback Book! I can truly appreciate this because I wrote my first novel on a typewriter before white-out and self-correcting tape. When I got my first PC in 1987, I knew God loved me! (and Bruce Harris)
I sincerely thank you for all the support you’ve given thus far and thank you in advance for all the support you may give in the future by buying and reading our novels and helping us spread the word.
I just discovered that BRANCHES for the Kindle is available in 9 languages including English. You haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen it on the Amazon Japanese website. Anyone got an idea how to reach the International audience?
