Cedar Rapids Dynamic Trio Hits Another Homerun

ImageDennis Green’s Traveler has finally navigated into our universe and the eBook version is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The paperback version will be available on those sites in a few days. But no matter where you buy it or what version you read, you’re gonna take a fantastic ride into the alternate reality world of Travis Becker.

You see, Travis wakes up in one reality only to discover that there are other versions of his reality playing out at the same time. With a lot of help from a miracle pill (supplied more or less benignly by his friend and scientist, Sam) he soon learns that he can move in and out of these alternate realities and perhaps even change the outcome of events.

Now this would be pretty heavy stuff for the average citizen, but Travis is a cop—with the authority to carry a gun—and has been or is or could be involved in some pretty dangerous activities. Like a stakeout at a seedy bar run by a notorious Russian thug. Or seeing his best friend and partner gunned down…or was he? Or seeing himself either honored by his fellow cops or drummed out of the force in disgrace. Which reality is real and in which reality is he safe. Or will he ever be safe again?

Traveler is amazing in its scope and Dennis Green is amazing in his ability to “story board” the plot so well that the reader can move in and out and around these alternate realities in various time warps and still follow the story and all the time feeling the confusion and angst that Trav feels. Green may be a first-time author but there is nothing novice about his achievement.

As a matter of fact, all three of the Cedar Rapids Dynamic Trio have published first novels that are destined to make their names well-known in the mystery/crime fiction genre. (see my Post from 05/28/13)

First we have Lennox Randon’s Friends Dogs Bullets Lovers (see my Post from 4/3/13). Then there’s Rob Cline’s Murder by the Slice (see my Post from 4/28/13). Now we have Dennis Green’s Traveler. 3 great novels from 3 great guys who are models for keeping their writing team together and keeping it real. I, of course, have dubbed myself as an honorary member of their team and will stick my head in the photo any time I get a chance.

The Party’s Over…

…but it was such a great party. The Branches Reading/Signing/Chatting/Warm Hugging event was spectacular. Thanks to all who were there and all who would have been there if they could have. I didn’t faint after the first 5 minutes and went on to share some of the most important and poignant stages of my journey. I feel stronger now than ever and feel like I can get back to doing something outside my comfort zone, if not every day, at least more often than I’ve been doing since I so optimistically made that declaration a few months ago . (sorry, I love run-on sentences.)

Authors 4

The Cedar Rapids Dynamic Trio were represented by Lennox Randon and Dennis Green but Rob Cline couldn’t make it. I must warn him that things happen when people aren’t around to protect their turf and I’m starting to feel like the trio should evolve into a quartet. This photo, of course, was taken at their May Reading/Signing Event when I was obviously already hatching my take-over plot.

Also, I was given an unexpected gift from Judy Winter, a friend I hadn’t seen for more than 20 years and only reconnected with in the last six months. Branches is now available in the Cedar Falls (Iowa) Public Library. She made that happen through her contacts. That just proves that good friends never stop being good friends. Thanks, Judy!
